USAID has just provided approximately $11 million for a Short Term Job Creation Program that will be implemented jointly with the Government of Egypt to create thousands of jobs and provide first time water and wastewater services for people in the poorest areas of Egypt. The Program will finance small scale infrastructure activities such as installation, renovation and improvement of potable water and wastewater pipelines and home connections. These activities are expected to create 240,000 labor-days of employment as well as improve household water and sanitation services for more than 600,000 Egyptians living in the governorates of Beni Suef, Minya, Assuit, Sohag, Qena, Luxor and Aswan.
قدمت الوكالة الأمريكية للتنمية الدولية مؤخراً ما يقرب من 11 مليون دولار لدعم برنامج "توفير فرص عمل عاجلة ومؤقتة" الذى سيتم تنفيذه بالتعاون مع الحكومة المصرية لخلق الآلاف من فرص العمل وتوفير خدمات المياه والصرف الصحي للأسر في المناطق الفقيرة في مصر. سيقوم البرنامج بتمويل أعمال البنية التحتية الصغيرة الحجم مثل تحديث وتركيب وتحسين مياه الشرب وخطوط أنابيب مياه الصرف الصحي والوصلات المنزلية. ومن المتوقع أن تساعد هذه الأنشطة على خلق 240.000 يوم عمل فضلا عن تحسين خدمات المياه والصرف الصحي المنزلية لأكثر من 600.000 مواطن في محافظات بني سويف والمنيا وأسيوط وسوهاج وقنا والأقصر وأسوان.
